PiPho 2011 1st General Assembly!
ACCI Center, Makati City
February 16, 2011
By Jovi Ong
The First General Assembly for 2011 was held at our usual place at ACCI Makati. The General Aseembly’s main aim was to:
• Official turnover of responsibilities from the 2010 officers to the 2011 officers
• Present Pipho in 2010
• Present Goals and Plans of Pipho 2011
After the prayer led by Ian Zubiri and some inspirational words from Edwin Martinez, Mon Corpuz (PiPho 2010 president) was introduced to the stage. Mon discussed the various achievements of Pipho in 2010:
Photo Exhibits
Apperture and Harmonies (Capones Bar)
Anniversary Exhibit at Eastwood Mall
Anniversary Exhibit at Shangrila Plaza Mall
Pipho 5th Anniversary at the SM Cyberzone in SM North Edsa
Print Like a Pro Seminar sponsored by Canon
Pipho as Photo Event Organizers
UST Quadricentennial Photo Contest
I Heart Makati
I am Able PWD (Photo with a Difference) event
Pipho Making a Difference
PWD Workshops
Pipho in cooperation with BPP (Black Pencil Project)
Pipho Photo Safaris
Pocket EBs: Tarlac, Post Office, PHAB 2010, Light Chasers Catanduanes, Batanes, Laguna Loop 2010, Taiwan, Mt. Pulag
(More notable) in 2010, Pipho had its very first international photo safari to Taiwan. Social awareness and contribution by the org was focused on as well in 2010; in fact, the first PWD event by John Chua was with Pipho Org. Pipho became a part of UST’s 400 year history by organizing the UST Quadricentennial Photo Contest. 5 years is pretty good and Pipho celebrated bigger and grander with it’s 5th year anniversary at the SM Cyberzone. Past cooperation and discussions with various companies and organizations are also proving beneficial to the Org such as it’s cooperation with Canon, SM, Ayala, etc.
Mon ended his presentation to loud applause from the Pipho Org. A (verbal) passing of the torch then ensued to the new president of 2011, Aids Tecson!
Mr. Aids Tecson started by summarizing his plans for the year, “Rekindling the Fire”. Now is the perfect time to concentrate more internally… within Pipho Org and its members.
